Analyzing a data set that has a very large value like 45782945764 or a very small value like 0.0024854693 is too difficult. To plot such data on a linear scale often doesn’t make much sense. So what can be done about this? This is where logarithm comes into the picture. Plotting such data on a logarithmic scale makes it comprehensible. Some common examples of such graphs are the Richer scale (to measure earthquake), the Decibel scale (To measure sound), pH scale (To measure acidity and basicity).
